Gemma Castro is a Mexican-American, Grammy winning engineer and composer based in Los Angeles. Gemma’s work explores the emotional and spatial implications of sound.
Gemma currently works as an audio engineer for Stones Throw Records and consultant for Women’s Audio Mission. She has engineered for artists including Anderson .Paak, Julia Holter, Lauren Jauregui, and Jimmy Iovine.
As an artist and composer, she has been commissioned for sound art installations and compositions by the Alliance for Women Film Composers, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Mike Kelley Foundation.
